Personality is vital to defining who we are as individuals. It involves a unique blend of traits, attitudes, thoughts, behaviors, and moods and is expressed in how we interact with others. People with personality disorders have long-standing patterns of thinking and acting that differ from what society considers usual or normal. The inflexibility of their personality can interfere with many areas of life, including social and work functioning, and make working with them very difficult. In this session you will learn the characteristics of common personality disorders and how to work with people who exhibit these personality traits.
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify the characteristics of common personality disorders
- Learn ways to interact and work with people who have personality disorders
- Develop a plan for self-care when working with difficult people
This webinar is appropriate for all staff in nursing facilities, assisted living, hospice and palliative care, and home health.
