When you have experienced insurmountable challenges – how do you overcome? My son, Shane, is a true example. He has taught me the true meaning of resiliency. After being critically wounded in Iraq, he returned home to meet extreme challenges. Nothing would ever be the same. As a caregiver, I had to prepare for new life with Shane. I was the pupil; he was my teacher. Never give up! When you break down the injuries and what the result engaged on a person, it can provide positive change: identify triggers to post traumatic stress syndrome, define ways to adapt to change, and examine ways to engage with your community. Promote overcoming adversity.
